The European Association of Hospital Managers (EAHM) is launching the inaugural
EAHM European Hospital Management Battle 2026 — a new European management challenge designed around the realities of hospital leadership.
National teams nominated through EAHM member associations will take responsibility for the same virtual hospital and compete through a series of strategic decisions using the Healthcare Hero simulation.
The challenge is not simply to achieve the highest score. Teams will need to define the hospital they want to create, agree their priorities and adapt their decisions as the competitive environment evolves.

Put your management decisions to the test
Hospital managers make decisions every day across clinical activity, workforce, capacity, quality, finance and operations. The Battle brings those dimensions together in a single dynamic simulation.
It creates a practical environment in which participants can test ideas, experience trade-offs and compare different management approaches with colleagues from across Europe.
Lead
Build a shared strategy and turn different professional perspectives into a coherent direction.
Decide
Make choices under uncertainty and see how decisions interact across the hospital.
Compete
Face teams from across Europe operating from the same starting hospital.
Learn
Compare approaches, understand trade-offs and reflect on different models of hospital management.
Build your national team
Participation is organised through EAHM national member associations.
Associations are encouraged to nominate multidisciplinary teams bringing together managers from different professional backgrounds and levels of experience.
Around five active participants per team is recommended, with up to six active participants. The competition is open to hospital and healthcare managers and is not restricted to CEOs or board members.

The EAHM European Hospital Management Battle 2026 is developed by the

A competition with learning value
The Battle is a simulation-based competition and learning experience. It is not an accredited academic or professional qualification and does not award academic credits.
